Gymnastics: Liu Yang retains Olympic title on still rings

 Hey gymnastics fans! China struck gold first in men's artistic gymnastics at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Sunday! Liu Yang defended his title from Tokyo 2020, edging out his teammate Zou Jingyuan to take the top spot in the still rings final.

Liu and Zou basically went neck-and-neck the entire competition, but it all came down to their dismounts. Zou had some wobbles on his double-double, while Liu stuck his landing with a small hop. That tiny difference was all it took for Liu to claim gold!

Greece's Eleftherios Petrounias wasn't too far behind, taking home the bronze medal. France's Samir Ait Said, who suffered a terrible injury on the vault in Rio 2016, also competed in the still rings final and placed fourth.

This is Liu's second consecutive gold medal in the still rings - no one has achieved this feat since Japan's Nakayama Akinori won gold in both 1968 and 1972!
